Comprehensive DBT – FAQs

1. What is Comprehensive DBT?

Comprehensive DBT is a full program that includes weekly individual therapy, weekly skills group, between-session coaching, and a structured curriculum that builds emotional and behavioral stability.

2. Who is DBT designed for?
DBT supports people who struggle with emotional regulation, impulsivity, relationship instability, chronic shame, trauma responses, self-harm urges, or neurodivergence-related challenges.

3. What diagnoses or difficulties does DBT help with?
DBT helps individuals with BPD, PTSD, ADHD, Autism, AuDHD, bipolar disorder, anxiety, depression, OCD traits, chronic overwhelm, rejection sensitivity, sensory overload, and interpersonal difficulties.

4. What’s the difference between Standard DBT and Neurodivergent-Informed DBT?
Standard DBT: full program delivered over 24 weeks.
Neurodivergent DBT: adapted curriculum delivered over 17 weeks, emphasizing sensory needs, executive function, and neurodivergent communication styles.

5. What does the program include each week?
One 50-minute individual therapy session
One 1.5-hour skills training group
Optional between-session support
Skills worksheets, homework, and tracking tools

6. How long is the full program?
Standard Comprehensive DBT: 24 weeks
Neurodivergent DBT: 17 weeks

7. Do I need a diagnosis to join?
No. You don’t need a formal diagnosis—only the motivation to work on patterns that are affecting your quality of life.

8. Is DBT suitable for neurodivergent adults?
Yes. The neurodivergent cohort is specifically designed for ADHD, Autism, AuDHD, sensory differences, and executive-function challenges.

9. What is the time commitment?
About 2.5–3 hours weekly, including sessions, group, and completing homework at your own pace.

10. What if I struggle with consistency?
We build routines gradually and tailor strategies based on your learning style, executive function profile, and sensory needs.

11. Is the programme online?
Yes. All therapy and skills groups take place via secure Zoom.

12. Can I join from any country?
Yes, as long as your timezone aligns with the skills group schedule.

13. What are the payment options?
You can pay 650 USD monthly, or a single payment for the full duration of your program (17 or 24 weeks).

14. Do you offer sliding scale or reduced-fee places?
Reduced-fee spots are sometimes available depending on current capacity.

15. What if I miss a therapy session?
If you have an emergency, you can reschedule your 50-minute session at a mutually convenient time, another day, or the following week.

16. What if I miss a skills training session?
All skills training sessions are recorded. If you miss one, you are expected to watch the recording, catch up on homework, and return the following week prepared.

17. What if groups feel overwhelming?
Groups are structured, predictable, and small. Neurodivergent groups include sensory accommodations, pacing modifications, and clear expectations.

18. Is DBT trauma-informed?
Yes. DBT is trauma-sensitive and stabilizes emotional and behavioral patterns so future trauma work becomes safer and more effective.

19. How do I know if Standard or Neurodivergent DBT is right for me?
If you’re neurodivergent, struggle with sensory overload, RSD, masking, or executive-function difficulties, ND-DBT may be a better fit. Standard DBT is best if you want the full 24-week traditional model.

20. How do I join?
You can book a free 20-minute consultation to explore whether DBT is the right fit and secure your place.
